More poetry corner: A quest

Into the wood she goes
Trying desperately to find her brother
There will be perils along the way
At least that is what she was told by her lover
She suspects that he was taken in the night
By a fearsome witch
She believes he was only taken
Because he was rich
“Why must he be so naive”
She groaned aloud
But little did she know
Someone heard this sound
A goblin deep in woods
Took this little tater
And stored it away
In case he needed it later
She walked for days and nights
Stopping only to eat
And on the third day
She realized her quest would be incomplete
She had nothing to fight with
No sword, nor axe, nor bow
All she had with her was some water and money
The latter of it was used long ago
As she wondered how she would save her brother
She stumbled upon a monastery
Inside lived a wise old sage
Who had cheeks as red as a cherry
When she asked him for help
He refused passionately
Saying, “I will not help your brother
For he holds the evil key”
“He has a key?”
I asked in surprise
“He always seems to loose them
He ties them to his thighs!”
“That’s idiotic, but back to the subject”
The old sage reckoned
“I do hate the witch, so I will help you kill her”
Into the next room he beckoned
He gave her a killing potion, and a teleportation sword
And told her of their power

Then she teleported to
The barracks of the witch’s tower
There she disguised as a guard
Watching, waiting for the time to strike
Then she realised the witch was waiting for her
To psych
She found an opportune moment
In the witch’s throne room
She threw a killing potion on the witch
And watched witch blood bloom
The witch knew her time was up
So she placed a curse
Right before the girl killed her, saying,
“The longest desert of them all, you will have to traverse.”
She freed her brother, wondering what the evil key in him did
Then a goblin showed up on the throne room
Trying to avenge his mistress
And make a big boom
So he told the brother that she thought him immature
That’s when she learned what the key in him did
He got more and more angry
Then he decided to get rid of her
He advanced on her
The teleport sword in his hand
And he sent her away
To the longest desert in the land
To this day, we have not heard from our dear princess
And her brother killed himself with grief
So it seems we have only sadness
On this small fief.
