Dream of Death- Short story work

"Tessa?" suddenly Mia felt a cold chill down her spine, as she stared at her best friend.
Tessa turned around with a smile that matched the idyllic countryside behind her and
laughed joyfully, her long, red, curly hair flowing in the breeze. Not knowing Tess to be
gregarious, Mia inched closer, studying her friend’s new behavior. “Come on!” Tessa
called, before jumping off the ledge. Mia studied the ledge, and jumped down the 40
foot cliff. She miraculously didn’t die, and Tess looked confused, but went on with her
cheerful demeanor when Mia came over. “Great job!” Tessa crowed, looking giddy
with excitement. “Now we swim!” She called over her shoulder, running into the lake.
When Mia started to swim, hands clamped on her back holding her under the frigid
water. Mia, figuring this was a game turned around and quickly held tess’s hands behind
her back. As she gulped in air, she laughed and laughed, but the countryside was slowly
melting around them. Mia woke up in a cold sweat. Tessa was nowhere, and it was three
a.m. Mia smiled sadly at a picture of a girl who had died falling off a cliff, in her family’s
mountainside camp, and drowning. The picture was of a girl, with long, flowing, curly red hair.
